Interested in Renting?
The first step in applying for PSHH rental housing is to complete an application for rental housing. Applications can be picked up at our rental office, can be accessed here on our web site (click on Applications for Housing Programs) or can be obtained by calling (606) 796-0811. We will be happy to assist you in completing the application and answer any questions you may have. No, PSHH does not charge a fee to submit an application for rental housing. However, when your name reaches the top of the waiting list, you will be required to pay a small fee so we can complete a credit and criminal background check. Rental references will also be required. Is there a waiting list for rental housing? Yes. We will add your name to our rental waiting list according to the type of housing you are eligible to receive. You may contact the PSHH rental office to check your placement on the waiting list. We will notify you by mail once your name reaches the top of the waiting list, so it is important to notify us if your mailing address changes. The PSHH rental staff will assist you in completing the necessary paperwork before you move into a unit. Different income guidelines apply for different rental units and rent amounts vary. The PSHH rental staff will notify you of the amount of your monthly rent payment and utility costs (including security and utility deposits), if any, before you sign the one-year lease agreement. Typically, the amount for rent and utilities will be approximately 30% of your monthly household income.
