How do I become a homeowner through PSHH?
PSHH will assist you every step of the way as you become a homeowner. We invite you to stop by our homeownership office to complete an initial intake form and meet with staff member to have your questions answered. We will complete a credit check on all adult members of the household (requires a small fee) and invite you to participate in one of our “Yes, You Can Own a Home” homeownership classes (click on Homeowner Education). You can also obtain an initial intake form by clicking on Applications for Housing Programs or call (606)796-6333 to request that an intake form be mailed to you.
Is a Down Payment Required?
In most cases, a down payment is not required. However, you will need to have money available to cover the first year of homeowner’s insurance, utility deposits, etc. and recording fees before you move into your new home.
How Much will my Monthly Mortgage (house payment) be?
PSHH has access to many different sources of below market financing resources to make your mortgage payment affordable. An escrow account will be required as part of your monthly house payment to cover your property taxes and homeowners insurance. PSHH will work hard to ensure that your mortgage and escrow payment will provide you with a low monthly house payment.
