The importance of having a safe, secure and comfortable place to call home cannot be overstated. Numerous studies show that stable housing goes hand in hand with good health, improved job stability and performance, and increased success in school.
Since 1982, many generous Lewis County residents have committed their time, energy and talent to provide decent housing for their friends and neighbors. Some serve or have served as a member of the Board of Directors, donating their time to set the direction of People’s Self-Help Housing, Inc. (PSHH) as a non-profit organization addressing the housing needs of low and moderate-income residents. Others have spent years as PSHH employees or subcontractors, dedicated to improving housing conditions day after day, through blistering heat and finger-numbing cold. All are making a visible difference in housing in our little corner of the world, and more importantly, making a difference in the lives of hundreds of individuals and families we serve each year.
